It only really bothers me that we all know or think we do, that TH is owned by HH. I do buy things that are not offered by HH. Not that I don't fly other branded aircraft. Don't get me wrong, and I'm sure you can look me up, I'm a very loyal HH customer. Well, maybe you're right, but it still bothers me. Ordering from Tower is no different than ordering from any other online retailer whose products aren't available on HH.com or at your LHS Or, if you spend $9.99 to become a Super Saver club member, you get even more points per order and bigger discounts on Tower and other brand products on TH.com that aren't available on HH.com. It's free to join as a standard club member, and coupons work whether you're a member or not. This is why Tower exists and is why it will always have its own loyalty program. Tower sells most Horizon Hobby brands/products too, but they also sell many other brands/products we cannot offer on HH.com and to your LHS. Same as other online-exclusive/direct-to-consumer brands. Tower Hobbies brand products are typically only available online (because if they were sold through stores too the prices would be higher). Just throwing some rationalization out there for ya Bert. Likely you get better deals than I do over at HH. IIRC the TH club is way cheaper than the HH one. The take away shouldn’t be that I have had a spending problem but that you’ll get that $10 loyalty club money right back most likely on the first purchase. In fact that hog feed with their 4x loyalty points was worth about half off the beaver. That’s on top of the frequent $10 coupons, the 10% offs, one rather nice 20% off deal last month that I made a hog of myself on. I got opportunities to buy insider deals on deeply discounted scratch and dent sales where they tell you up front that the plane is perfect, it’s box damage. I have recouped that on the first order where I could apply a discount. Joining the all exclusive TH loyalty club is all of $9.99 if my memory is correct. Makes very little sense to me, and several other guys who happen to like buying from the LHS. Shoot even my LHS has trouble getting stuff from Tower (I was there and asked them about it one hour ago). I don't need the plane, I have plenty of E-flite planes, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy one if it were made available via HH. Hey, we all know that Tower Hobbies is owned by Horizon Hobby, so why the two different sale programs. But because I can't get excited about ordering from Tower ( I am an HH Elite Member) and have no real interest in joining over at tower, well then just like the Seawind, I'll have to pass. And I'd be all over it, if it were offered by Horizon. The Tower team is still working through a few things due to the new backend system, but it should be IN STOCK on the web site later today!Īlso, all of the spare parts for it (for those who may need to repair an older Flyzone model as well!) are live on the site now and should also be IN STOCK later today: Īnd don't forget to always visit this link to see the latest coupon code/discounts/special offers that can be applied toward the purchase of ALL Tower Hobbies brand products: IMO the best we can do is educate our fellow modeler regardless of what type of construction their airplane is.The Tower Hobbies Beaver 1.5m PNP is a re-release of the Flyzone Select Scale model that was very popular in a few different versions before! See more information below and on the product page here: After a few of these adjustments the airplane would then fly in a much more acceptable manner. Most times the club member in question has already made the determination that the airplane is a " bad design " just to find out that with some adjustments to CG, aileron throws/differential, thrust angles etc. I end up spending a great deal of time working with guys in my club on these issues. What I do feel is suffering due to the popularity of ARFs is the knowledge to properly set up and trim an airplane. In fact I think our numbers would be even lower if it were not for ARFs. I however do not think the invasion of ARFs are to blame for the decrease of popularity in our hobby. At the end of the day ARFs are just not for me unless they are of the composite variety. They flew fine but IMO they were not as durable as something I would have built myself. Although I don't much care for ARFs either I have owned a few over the years. I would place myself into that category as well but will also add designing to that as well. I take the phrase " entire hobby " to mean building and flying as opposed to assembling and flying.
